Girl has bangs:

With Addie's stick-straight hair in her eyes all the time, I decided a change was in order: add a few bangs and a fun bob to go with them!

Here's the new look:

The bangs fit her spunky personality just perfect.....now Ashlynn would like some!

And so it begins.

We started school yesterday with Ashlynn and Ryde. It's hard to believe I have a first grader and a third grader in the house! They have been good sports as we plow back into our routine and I know our schedule will iron itself out just right.

All of the kids needed a haircut, so they pulled up a stool in mom's salon (our family room) and I cut away. Gage, Ryder and Addie didn't shed enough to warrant a photo, but Ashlynnie sure did.

Here is our sweet girl before:

And here is the new do (we sent her hair to Locks of Love):

I pulled it back into a pony tail and cut away....and cut and cut and cut. That girl's hair is so thick I started having second thoughts about how short it was becoming the longer it was taking. Apparently, I need to get bigger scissors next time so I can cut the pony tail off in one clip and get on with the styling.

After looking at the finished product in the mirror she hugged me over and over again, thanking me and saying "it is exactly how I imagined it would be mommy!".

Ofcourse, I was most anxious about what daddy would think about the cut. The last time I took my scissors to it, he casually mentioned "it shouldn't be as short next time".

Oops.

Thankfully he loved it and was more worried about what it cost than the length and was very happy to learn I cut it at home (the Dave Ramsey in me must be rubbing off on him!). It is just hair, and it will grow back.....if that's was Miss Ashlynn would like.

Ashlynn's New Do.

Ashlynn had her hair cut today and she couldn't wait to show you all! They even flat ironed it for her and she has decided that's what she wants for Christmas...I guess when you've never had your hair straight before it's a real treat :-)!!

Here it is:

As promised....

Sorry for the delay on Ryder's haircut pictures, but these pesky little visitors named fever and green snot came to visit us. They are very ill mannered and must be super neglected by their parents because they don't want to leave. I've tried wiping them away, bribing them away with medication, pumping them with fluids until they are flushed out and only offering green vegetables at every meal. "No, we won't go, we will not go!", is all I keep hearing (in the form of coughs, whining and sniffling, ofcourse).

So, pardon the delay, without further ado.....

After:

The faces are all Ryder, that boy doesn't quite get the "smile and look at the camera", I must admit I like his way better!

For Nicole, the tale of a mullet:

As I wrote the title I didn't realize the pun, but now I see it, so I suppose it is intended. Anyhoo, my sweet little Addie only seems to be growing hair on the back of her head. Twice now, it has been cautiously buzzed off, once by me when she was about three months and the second time by her Auntie Colie who couldn't stand it any longer (pun again?). Before you think I am crazy, I did the same thing to Ashlynn and the girl has more hair with the most beautiful curls than she knows what to do with. Sooooo, I thought maybe the outcome would be the same. However, it seems the mullet just doesn't want to go, it's in style now anyway, right?

After her bath, I was able to eek out a couple of pig tails. I was laughing so hard I could barely hold the camera still enough to get a couple of pictures. Look closely, you can see them peeking out the sides:

Something tells me come October Auntie Colie will have a buzzer in her hand when we step off the plane......

The new do.

Here is Ryder post haircut. It's cute, but I miss running my fingers through his hair (I don't think he misses that!). Ashlynn LOVES it and Ryder says he looks like daddy now :-).

Just in time for our Christmas cards....

It's never a good thing when your kid walks into the kitchen with a pair of scissors in hand along with a bunch of hair with this to say: "my hair was in my eyes, mama". I'm off to give him a buzz cut to see if we can "clean it up" a bit. Hopefully it will grow back soon, he has, I mean had, the best hair.
